I sent this letter to the paper yesterday:
“Dear Editor,
Thanks to EU legislation British holiday makers this Summer were able to call, text and use mobile data for the same price they pay at home. While on holiday in the EU.
Fees for using mobile data abroad were axed in an agreement in June 2016, however with Britain set to leave the digital single market these fees could return after we leave the European Union.
Brexit means that the cost to British businesses and holiday makers using their mobile phones abroad will soar.
The British voters, not the politicians, should have the final say on the terms of leaving the EU. It’s like putting a deposit on a house, only for the surveyor’s report to throw up loads of problems but being forced to go through with the purchase.
We can change our minds if Brexit is not as good as was promised in June 2016.
Yours sincerely.
