Today I sent this letter to the Reading Chronicle:

I was shocked to discover from a recent FOI request, that 171 homes in Reading have been empty for more than two years. These properties could be better used to provide stop-gap homes for families struggling in unsuitable temporary accommodation, or to provide long-term affordable housing.

Will Reading Borough Council be taking advantage of Empty Dwelling Management Orders to take over these properties and make good use of them for the people of Reading?
